Resume Layout

  1. Centered at the top, list your name, address, home (cell) phone number, and home e-mail address.
     
  2. Label the next section EXPERIENCE:
    • With the most current on the top, list the month and year of employment on the left.
    • To the right of the month and year of employment italicize, bold and underline your title.
    • On the next line, list your employer and the city and state they are located.
    • On the next lines, list your duties, responsibilities and accomplishments while integrating the hardware, languages, software, databases, utilities, protocols and operating systems worked with.
    • Repeat these steps for each employer.
       
  3. Label the next section EDUCATION:
    • Put most advanced degrees and certifications first. Bold degrees. List month and year received.
    • On the next line, list the educational institution and the city and state where it is located.
    • List your Grade Point Average if 3.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale).
    • Repeat these steps for each degree/certification. Omit high school. Include degrees, coursework towards degrees and certifications.
       
  4. The last section should be: REFERENCES: Available upon request.
